In case you have noticed many more calls in the call counter this is because we have doubled all available calls today so that you may enjoy calling for the holidays. This promotion will last until the end of the year.

On Halloween last month we introduced an all new look and feel for the website to make it easier for users to interact with and understand the basic concept, yet we still struggle to project to users that our service is free with no hidden agendas. While the concept of free calling is not a new model in its own, our system contains a few features rarely seen, such as free phone-to-phone calling. For this reason the validity of our model is often questioned. To put it in the most simplest manner for anyone wondering,  the advertising on the screen really is what pays for the calls. We have fine tuned many elements of the ads such as placement, rotations, targeting, and general selection, which allow for efficiency.

Free phone calls from phone-to-phone offer a tangible value beyond similar offerings especially when calling location such as China or Brazil which local providers charge heftily. For this reason users who are used to paying a few dollars for a call can now save a substantial amount of money by simply logging into our site. This creates the perspective in some peoples minds that ‘this is too good to be true.’ We have users emailing us asking, ‘how can this be free,’ ‘will my phone be charged,’ ‘will we be receiving spam emails all day,’ etc.. The answer to all of them is of course ‘no,’ but getting the message across presents a challenge on its own. Cynicism ran wild when Google presented Gmail which scanned keywords from emails, but after a while it wore off, converting the naysayers into believers, and leaving a positive image. Hopefully this will be the case with us, so we continue to be optimistic.

On another subject, this month the media has been friendly to us with some great media released from the UK, USA, and Israel. All of this is much appreciated by everyone involved including Chani Garb and Sima Ella our lovely PR ladies.
